AT&T, our "TopTenREVIEWS Gold Award" winner, boasts being the largest wireless company in the United States, supplying cell phone service to more than 50 million subscribers. With one of the largest mobile-to-mobile communities in the country and free mobile-to-mobile minutes, AT&T is an attractive option for cell phone service.
The sheer number of options, including rollover minutes, made AT&T the best of the cell phone providers that we reviewed.
AT&T has numerous plans to choose from, ranging from individual and family plans to data and prepaid plans—some plans even come with a free phone.
The $39.99 Nation 450 w/Rollover plan that we looked at comes with a generous amount of anytime minutes along with 5000 night and weekend minutes, which will keep even the most social of people happy. If you have friends who also use AT&T then feel free to talk away with unlimited mobile-to-mobile minutes. Combine all this with free long distance and free roaming within the continental United States and this is a tough plan to beat.
Some other features standard to this plan include voice mail, caller ID, call forwarding and conference calling. This plan comes with a two-year contract, an activation fee of $36.00 and an early termination fee of $240.00.
If this plan by itself doesnt give you the features or the flexibility that you need you can either add additional features to this plan for additional costs, or look at one of the other many plans offered by AT&T.
AT&T has excellent coverage in the eastern United States and metropolitan areas in the West. Outlying areas, especially in the Midwest, can be sparse in coverage. This isnt a big problem since AT&T doesnt charge roaming fees. AT&T received a less-than-perfect score in this area because of the less-than-perfect coverage in the western part of the country.
This AT&T plan offers 450 anytime minutes, 5000 night and weekend minutes and unlimited mobile-to-mobile minutes with access to what might possibly be the largest mobile-to-mobile community.
While this plan doesnt have the most anytime minutes of the plans we looked at and doesnt offer unlimited night and weekend minutes, the minutes are ample enough for the average person for the price.
AT&T customers have several different customer support options, including phone support, a FAQs page on their website as well as an email address. You can also contact AT&T directly from your cell phone by dialing *611.
AT&T, one of the leading cell phone providers in the United States, offers several plans to choose from. Whether you need an individual, family, data or prepaid plan there is most likely a plan that will fit your needs. For only $39.00, the AT&T plan we reviewed offers many basic features and plenty of minutes.
