Liberty Wireless is a very basic prepaid cell phone provider but that’s exactly what some customers are seeking. The company only offers one phone so there’s no need to review features to decide which one you want and that phone is free when you spend an initial $20 for 500 minutes of airtime. That’s a pretty reasonable $.04 per minute but be aware that the time remains valid for just 30 days and any unused time is lost after that period.
There are six different refill cards that can be purchased. The chief difference between them is the number of minutes that are provided for a given price but there’s also an unlimited nights and weekends option of some of them. The most basic card is $10 which provides only 85 minutes of airtime or nearly $.12 per minute. There’s also a $20 card for 500 minutes just like the initial sign up plan.
The other four options provide unlimited night and weekend calling. Available cards are $30 for 150 minutes, $40 for 250 minutes, $50 for 400 minutes and $60 for 600 minutes. The air time on these cards also expires 30 days following activation.
Domestic long distance is billed at the same rate as local calling and voice mail is a standard feature. Those are the only features available from Liberty Wireless.
